Terms of service

This page covers the use of this site and the enquiry process. Every commission is governed by a contract signed between Jeremy Obando Gómez and the client; where anything here differs from that contract, the contract governs.

Sending the form is neither a reservation nor an obligation to commission, on either side.

Live painting: a piece in oil on canvas, begun and painted live during the event in front of the guests, and finished afterwards in the studio.

Four packages are offered. What differs between them is the canvas size, the studio hours spent on the piece, and what each one includes. The detail for each is on the packages page.

Prices are not published on this site. Each piece is quoted when the enquiry is answered, based on the package, the scene, the venue and the date.

The price, the currency and any applicable tax are stated in writing in the proposal and the contract. A quote is valid for as long as it says it is.

A 50% deposit is what reserves the date. Until that deposit is received the date remains available to any other couple, whatever enquiries or proposals are in progress.

The balance is paid as set out in the contract; in practice it is arranged around the video call before the event.

The scene to be painted is chosen on a video call one month before the event. Until then you can change your mind: what you enter in the form is a preference, not a commitment.

The piece is painted live from the agreed scene.

Jeremy arrives early to set up and prepare his materials, and paints through the event while guests can watch the piece develop.

After the event the piece is finished in the studio with the final detail work and professional drying. Delivery happens between 1 and 2 months after the event.

Commissions for weddings outside Costa Rica are accepted. Travel, accommodation and ground transport are quoted separately from the package and set out in the proposal.

To date every piece has been painted in Costa Rica, including those for couples who travelled in from abroad. We say so plainly: travelling out would be a first, not a record of years.

The terms for changing a date, postponing and cancelling are agreed in each commission’s contract, not on this page. They are explained before signing and before the deposit is paid.

The physical piece belongs to the client from the moment it is delivered.

The text, photographs and artworks reproduced on this site belong to Jeremy Obando Gómez or to their respective owners; they may not be reused without permission.

These terms, and the contracts signed under them, are governed by the laws of Costa Rica.
